Aussie Orff courses and conferences 2010
14th Early Childhood Conference of Performing Arts (ECCPA)
21-22 August 2010 Melbourne
Genazzano FCJ College, Cotham Rd, Kew Victoria, Australia
This year Dick Watt (who was a mentor to Lynn Kleiner) is the Key Presenter. In addition there are over 30 other experts presenting a wide range of ‘hands on’ workshops throughout the weekend. This conference is for pre-school teachers, primary school teachers, caregivers, family day care workers, therapists, parents and anyone interested in working creatively with young children (0-8yrs). Australian Orff Level courses accredited through ANCOS (Australian National Council of Orff Schulwerk) Subjects include Movement and Dance, Orchestration and Analysis, Technique and Improvisation, Recorder, Vocal Studies and Pedagogy. Each course is 36 hours. There are 4 levels in total - this flyer shows a list of level 1 and 2 courses being offered in 2010.
Special Course - Orff Institute, Mozarteum University in Salzburg
Advanced Studies in Music and Dance Education - Orff-Schulwerk
This course is taught in English and will be held from October 2010 until June 2011. It is offered to teachers of music and dance pedagogy with at least three years teaching experience.
The curriculum includes:
- Didactics of Elemental Music and Dance
- Pedagogy and Practice Teaching
- Ensemble and Improvisation
- Composing and Arranging
- Movement/Dance Technique
- Basic Choreography and Improvisation
- Movement Accompaniment
- Music and Dance for Different Age Groups
- Projects in: Movement/Integrating the Arts/ Elemental Music Theater
- Theory and Practice of Instrument Building
Teachers are faculty members of the Orff Institute, University Mozarteum, Salzburg along with international guest teachers. Students are from all over the world and represent the cultural diversities of their countries and homes.
